The Irrigander 4 expander is a 4 zone irrigation expander designed to expand small size systems that have enough outputs available on the irrigation controller to drive the additional zones.
The Irrigander 4 expander is comprised of two types of modules: an Encoder that is installed close to or inside the sprinkler controller; a Decoder that is installed close to the valves to be controlled. The Encoder is attached to the Decoder using up to 3 wires. These wires are typically the existing field control wires in the irrigation systems to be expanded. The decoder has 4 outputs that are attached to each of up to 4 valves for the lawn sprinklers or garden irrigation systems (Irrigander 4 Expander diagram). The Irrigander 4 expander can drive from 2 to 4 zones in the irrigation system depending on the number of field wires in the existing installation. For installations with more than 3 field control wires to the valves, the Irrigander 4 expander will use 3 field control wires allowing the addition of one additional zone. Detailed specifications and operating instructions are in the User Guide, available below. Application information on the Irrigander 4 expander is available on our Applications page.
