The Irrigander 8 Pro expander is an 8 zone irrigation expander designed to expand medium size systems that have enough outputs available on the irrigation controller to drive the additional zones. The Irrigander 8 Pro expander uses our proprietary Irrigander 2-wire Technology.

The Irrigander 8 Pro expander is comprised of two types of modules: an Encoder that is installed close to or inside the sprinkler controller; a Decoder that is installed close to the valves to be controlled.  One dedicated field wire is attached to the Irrigander 8 Pro expander's output. The 8 inputs to the Encoder are connected to any available 8 irrigation controller outputs. The dedicated field wire and the system wide common wire are connected to the Decoder and the outputs from the decoder are connected to the valves to be controlled (Irrigander 8 Pro Expander diagram). If more than 2 field wires are available, the remaining field wires can be used to drive additional valves. Add optional Irrigander Surge Suppressors to minimize potential damage from lightning.
